Here are some frequently asked questions to help you plan your holiday. If you have additional questions, please contact us.
Do you allow dogs?
The Piggeries does not accept dogs, but all other cottages accept well-behaved dogs. There is a £35 charge per dog, per week (no charge for assistance dogs). Maximum of 2 dogs per cottage.
Do you supply cots and high chairs?
We can supply travel cots suitable for children up to 24 months old and highchairs all free of charge. Please let us know what you need prior to arrival.
Do the cottages have Wi-Fi?
Yes, Superfast Broadband is available and the speeds we get are now very good.
The system works well for most guests. Occasionally, guests coming from abroad sometimes have to adjust their laptop settings. Although strangely enough, their children have been able to gain internet access on their ipads/phones/gadgets.
It is a free service, please do not take offence if it is not at the ‘speed’ that you normally receive. We continually look at ways to keep the service up to date and implement any new changes that appear on the market.
When are short breaks available?
Short breaks are available throughout the year. Mondays and Fridays are normal arrival days. We will consider arrivals on other days for cottages which have last-minute availability. Please call for more info.
What time can we arrive?
You can arrive for your holiday from 4pm.
What time do we need to leave?
Please leave no later than 10 am on your departure date.
Can we arrange beauty treatments during our stay?
A local lady, Kim Tattersall has a mobile beautician business ‘Perfected by Kim’ and will travel to the cottages to pamper you. She does lots of beauty treatments and massages. A nice treat before a big celebration!
Is there a local hairdresser?
For those guests attending weddings or other special events in the area, or even for a gathering of ladies, there is a local lady from Preston who will come and style your hair and do your make up if required. She came for our daughter’s wedding in December 2014 and ‘styled’ our daughter and the bridesmaids.

Can you arrange a cake for our special occasion?
A local company called Iced makes fabulous celebration cakes. They have their own website https://www.icedgarstang.co.uk and you can order direct with them
Can we hire a marquee?
Recently we have had guests wishing to book all the cottages for large functions. We have had a marquee set up by both Lancashire Marquee hire and Evans marquee hire. If this is something you would like to consider please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Where can we get celebration balloons?
Conway Cards on the High Street down in Garstang can provide balloons, Helium filled and very attractive for special occasions. I have bought balloons from here on a few occasions. They also have the large number balloons.

One of our guests organised for a company to decorate one of the cottages with balloons whilst they went out for a special 50th birthday lunch. Prices start from £60.

Is there a local taxi service?
If you require the services of a local taxi firm, there are two based just a couple of miles away in Garstang.

Can we hire a hot tub?
No. Our insurance doesn’t cover this and therefore we cannot allow it.
Can we have fireworks?
No. We have livestock on site.
